So far, very good
I will update this review periodically, so far setup was a little confusing but easy and quick, I use a USB cable so I canât speak to the ease of operating via WiFi. One appealing aspect of this printer is just that, itâs a printer, it has no fax or scan capability, I need neither, so I felt maybe all my money was going in to the printer and not unused features. The fact that itâs single-function may explain Amazonâs cautionary statement about it being a frequently returned item. If thatâs the case buyers arenât paying attention. The screen takes a little getting used to but again, once itâs figured out itâs fine. Some may feel the printer is too big, but it prints tabloid/ledger size paper, itâs gotta be a certain size just because of that. It replaces a 14 year old Brother that took up more space than the Epson does. I will only be printing 11×17 monochromatic on this, so I like that I can load 11×17 paper in both trays, and I also like that In the print setup thereâs a black and white selection, I hope this minimizes use of the colored ink cartridges. The auto duplex was an important feature, as everything I print is two sided and it works very well on this Epson, such a time saver. The print quality is good on the standard setting, certainly acceptable in most cases, the higher setting is very good. I like that the tray automatically extends to receive the printed pages. Stay tuned for updatesâ¦

Epson updates firmware to force purchase of Epson only inks!!!
While I initially thought this printer would be alright, it is very large and not the best quality, it was fairly inexpensive and printed 13×19 paper, which was what I needed for my freelance work. I purchased a “fully compatible” ink set that was a third party, and they worked exactly as the expensive Epson brand inks. I made the HUGE mistake to follow what Epson says to do and updated my firmware on the printer, and now none of my inks are recognized! I submitted a request to their support, and I was told they put out those updates periodically and only epson brand inks are suppose to be used in their printer. So bottom line, – – – Epson purposely sends firmware updates to render third party inks not compatible!!!I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER THING FROM A COMPANY THAT HAS THIS SORT OF BUSINESS PRACTICES AS THE INKS ARE 3X AS MUCH AS THEIR REMANUFACTURED ONES. SO AFTER BUYING ! ADDITIONAL SET OF EPSON INKS, I SPENT MORE THAN THE PRINTER ITSELF. EPSON, HOW DARE YOU TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE PEOPLE THAT SUPPORT YOUR COMPANY. I MAY BE JUST 1 PERSON, BUT I WILL NEVER BUY FROM EPSON AGAIN!!!

Disappointed in product
Images have ink smears where it appears the rollers are positioned. A couple of copies will be good and then this issue appears. I canât clean it enough to get rid of the problem. It ruins my sublimation prints. Wasting my money on sublimation paper. Not happy with this. I need to know how to fix this issue

Excellent, easy to set up and use
This printer is very easy to set up and use. (I would give it more stars except it uses a lot of ink, which is expensive.) It helps to look at the instructions when starting up with it, to see where the large format paper goes. The print quality is amazing, but it’s a little loud when the receiving tray comes out.

Very Easy to Set Up
This printer was the easiest printer to set up that I have come across! I havenât tried other papers with it except copy paper but it printed fine. The 11×17 printed fine with no issues. The drivers downloaded fine on my Windows 7 desktop, added to Wi-Fi and was able to add printer to my Windows 11 laptop with no issues. This will not be an everyday printer but will do great for my purpose.

Good Printing Quality but BAD management
The printer itself make good 11×17 line drawn prints for my design/architectural business. Mostly use B&W with some occasional color details. However, the last “update” from Epson has restricted the printer to use ONLY Epson ink cartridges, and has eliminated the on-screen option to delete the latest upgrade. So now you’re stuck buying Epsons MUCH higher priced cartridges.Had I have know exactly what that upgrade (for them, not me or my printer) was, I never would have done it….but it didn’t say of course.

Do not Buy this Printer
What really made me to decide to write this review and to NEVER again buy EPSON is their inexcusable Firmware update policy. I was printing important business documents with 3rd Party ink cartridges installed (bought them on AMAZON!!) and an EPSON screen pops up and requests that I install a new firmware update for the printer. I installed the new firmware and immediately WITHOUT NOTICE all my 3rd party Ink Cartridges were made inoperable and the printer would not print or reset until I could go out and buy new EPSON brand cartridges! Due to this I had to go out to a retail printing service just to finish my printing because EPSON had locked me out of my printer.Below is copied directly From the EPSON website under âSupportâ”I updated my printer’s firmware, and now my product shows that the ink is not recognized. What should I do?” ⢠From time to time, Epson updates its firmware to ensure the printer operates as designed, and the printer is designed to work only with genuine Epson-brand cartridges. Other brands of ink cartridges and ink supplies are not compatible and, even if described as compatible, may not function properly. Please replace any non-Epson cartridges with Genuine Epson cartridges. Epson provides information about the design of the printer on the box as well as many other locations including materials shipped with the printer. Also, NOTE: This is a Printer ONLY with no scanner or copier functions

Print quality is as excellent as the advertising claims.Having two paper trays is handy. For low price the printer seems well built, but I don’t think it would survive falling off a desk without suffering exterior damage, especially with the paper trays fully loaded. The standard capasity ink cartridges aren’t expensive.Lastly the Android apps work great, printing from tablet or smartphone is easy, weather you use “Epson print enabler” or “Epson iprint” app you’ll be happy with the results.

Updated. Cannot solve the issue of it printing a status page when sending the first print job of the day, and so wasting paper and ink. Only work around seems to be to print a letter size document first and then go to the 13×19, or whatever larger, size. Will not be keeping this printer.I have had several large format printers over the years. I have had good experiences with Epson printers. This one, perhaps because of its price point, has some annoyances. The setup on the small screen is overly obtuse. It kicks out needless pages at some start up times as well as at other times. I use it almost exclusively for 13 x 19. It often does not print the first time I send a print job. Then whatever paper options are selected at least half the time it starts printing on letter size paper instead of the 13 x 19 and finishes it on part of the 13 x 19, wasting paper. If there is no paper in the two trays it gives a paper error. Print quality is good. Ink usage is what I expected. Will keep it for now, but probably not long term.

I need a wide format printer for 17″ paper that allows for printing of blueprints. This printer fits the bill.I had an HP Officejet 7740…which died on me…and the Epson runs circles around it. The Epson is already printing while the HP was “thinking” about it. So much faster! Plus the Epson’s paper tray actually holds the printed paper where the HP had it falling off after two or three sheets.
