Best printer
This is by far the easiest printer to set up and use. Nice printing job done quickly, nice price. I like that the paper loads into a drawer so there isn’t an open slot to get the feed rollers dunked up with dust.

Never another Epson. Lousiest warranty handling I’ve ever seen.
40 year tech & marketing pro here, bought this for my mother.Never could get nozzles unplugged – hours on calls with Epson. Many cleanings, 2 sets of new cartridges (costing more than the printer).Epson, after 40 minutes of waiting listening to silly basketball pro recordings, offered prepaid exchange. After 15 minutes working, they couldn’t correctly submit CCard transactions. Gave them 2 different cards, they said they made 3 attempts all declined. I called the banks involved – Banks saw only one attempt, malformed, at $0.Simply rotten service. I can’t justify continuing to try to get the replacement. Bought Mom another HP and it’s working pretty flawlessly. There’s an Epson printer in a dumpster at Mom’s residence.

Easy set up. Prints clear.
I was able to get it set up quickly. I’m using this to print things at home from my phone and laptop. No connection issues. Prints are fast and clear. Order extra ink at the time of purchase because the initial cartridges are minimal to make sure things work. You’ll want extra to have on hand. It states this in set up but doesn’t really mention it anywhere else. I haven’t had to switch mine out but I’m not printing a ton. It is NOT a quiet printer but it is fast. No issues so far.

Better printer than exoected
I am normally an inexpensive Canon inkjet printer user, but became disenchanted with my latest Canon MG6200 that uses a combined (r,y,c) color ink cartridge since individual colors are used at different rates, and when one color is low, the Canon will often leave any location with that color blank ⦠even if I select âblackâ only ⦠that I had thought would result in a mixture of white, black and various greys (in place of the individual colors). Nope. So done with that Canon. I needed a small footprint printer that utilized individual inks for each color. I found that Epsom Expression XP-5200 met all my needs, as well as a slighly more expensive Epson, and a similar Brother (I purchased a Bother a few yrs ago, and returned it immediately after being unable to get crisp printed output). My only concern with the Epson was with the various discussions re the ability to use less expensive âremanufacturedâ ink cartridges, since Epson apparently identifies nonEpson cartridges and disallows their use with future SW upgrades. There are various methods (apparently) to get around this problem, and remanufactured âguaranteeâ their cartridges will work! Since I am not a âfrequentâ printer, I decided to purchase the Epson Expression XP-5200, as well as a set of highly rated remanufactured, as well as standard Epson ink cartridges. Have not yet installed either, so no determination yet of the use of remanufactured cartridges. However, the Epson xp-5200 arrived promptly. The setup instructions can be misleading, and allowing the automatic setup using the Epson app failed continuously because the Epson would not retain a wi-fi connection with my router. I then followed the âmanualâ installation, and after performing the wi-fi setup ⦠apparently that was enough, the two partial setup attempts worked, the Epson console sprang to life and all seemed well ⦠a bit disconcerting because I never reached ppd a âfinishâ step as usually required, the Epson initialization was quite quick, the console was very bright, and after a few moments touching all the buttons ⦠how to use it âmanuallyâ was clear and obvious. I downloaded the Epson printer app onto my IPad, 2 laptops, and desktop PC. Eason Support indicates the SW printer and SW that should be downloaded, very quickly done. â¦these are used when the non manual mode (e.g. from Word, Excel, Internet sites, etc) are used and you select âprintâ . The âAirPrintâ from IPad, and computer printing all went flawlessly to my surprise, the printer head alignment was quick, and pages were crisp ⦠and the Epson CO-5200 prints fast (compared to the Canon). There are 5 possible apps to choose, but only the manual, actual SW app, and Connectivity app are likely required (the other 2 apps are for printing photos). The SW installation was much quicker than for the Canon ⦠and the number of apps many fewer than for the Canon(I actually found the Canon app suite confusing). Whether the Epson SW provides all the capabilities of the Canon is yet to be determined, But, it has all the basic needs (orientation, pages, margins, two-sided ⦠etc)that I (and likely 95% of all users will need). One quirk noted that the Eoson sometimes loses the Wi-Fi connection (shown in printer console with a red warning). Just touching that icon seems to clear up the connection problem immediately (time will tell if this is a real problem with âmyâ Epson, or a general problem (read other reviews!). In summary, nice footprint, clear manual console, bright icon displays on the console, User manual is extensive, AirPrint, Wi-Fi print works well ⦠very happy with my purchase!

Easy setup, quality printing!
Setting up the printer to get it calibrated and connected to my devices was a breeze; the software held my hand through each step of the process. It scans and prints great and has performed well in a home office environment. Note: I would advise purchasing an extra set of ink cartridges, especially black. The printer does come with ink, but I was getting a low ink message less than 20 pages in.

My third Epson printer
I’ve had countless printers of many different brands. About seven years ago, I bought my first Epson. It had a major defect that prevented it being usable. Epson sent a replacement immediately, without my needing to return the defective one. I liked that. The replacement worked well until about a month ago, when it suffered a fatal (in my opinion) jamming problem. Of course, as fate would have it, replacement cartridges had just arrived. After a little research, I ordered an Epson XP-5200. It was easy to install, has more features than my old printer, and works great. To my eye, the required 222 print cartridges look like the 288 print cartridges I had ordered for my old printer. It would be nice if they worked in the new printer.

Cheaply made-runs out of ink first day used
First day setting it up, denies password -redo multiple times and always typed in right. Finally it takes it. Then print a few things and runs out of yellow in. Replacement ink made by Epson doesnât fit. Keeps saying push down cartridge. Too tight a fit -same number send with copier 212. Others fit fine.Epson has let me down. Loved my xp -830 premium-but they only allow you to drive it 4 hours away to reset ink pad -which we replaced but now need a key. They are becoming greedy and cheap! Wasted much time with customer service with people that donât speak English. No answers just circle jerks.Iâm in the market for a very expensive copier and I will think hard about this one.

Constant Problems with Ink Cartridges being recognized
The printer works all right but overall the experience with it has been very frustrating because the Ink Cartridges are often not recognized. Even ones bought directly from Epson. Not to mention, the ink cartridges are expensive so you’re often replacing new ones that you just bought along with the added annoyance of time spent trying to unsuccessfully trouble shoot the issue to ultimately have to order more online anyway and then wait for them to come in. I tried to call their customer support about the issue but they as a company make it extremely challenging to get in touch with any support. I would recommend purchasing another brand to avoid this headache yourself.

Reasonably priced, compact, & nice appearance on the desk. A little noisy in operation when printing. If it proves durable it should be considered a keeper. Reasonably priced and easy to set up and get operational.

The printing quality is good

Seems to work as for what I needed it for. Connects easily to wifi, printer was easy to set up with step by step instructions, Iâve printed a few different things with it so far one being business cards with the Avery business cards and worked exactly as I wanted. Picture prints are not professional quality but itâs not as bad as I thought, they are clear prints. Overall for what Iâve printed so far seems to be a good printer

I recently purchased the Epson XP-5200 printer, and unfortunately, my experience has been less than satisfactory. The printer worked well for the first 10 months, but then it encountered a problem, and that’s where the trouble began. The real frustration began with the warranty process. I returned the printer over a month ago, and I’ve had no updates or a replacement unit sent to me. The only way to contact customer support is by phone, and the long waits on hold before and during the calls are quite frustrating. To make matters worse, I was promised a call back with an update, but that never happened. In addition to the warranty issues, I was disappointed with the printer’s ink consumption. It seemed to go through ink at an alarming rate. Even when printing only in black, I could barely manage to get around 100 pages printed before all the cartridges were empty. Considering the cost of a new set of cartridges at $80, this is simply not acceptable.Another frustration I encountered was the printer’s refusal to allow me to use the scanning function when the ink ran out. This limitation felt unnecessary and inconvenient. My experience with the Epson XP-5200 has left me dissatisfied, and I won’t be considering Epson for my future purchases. I hope this review helps others decide when choosing a printer.
