Description
Your business needs a printer that’s fast, affordable, easy to use, and has premium productivity features. That’s why we developed the EcoTank ET-4850 – an innovative cartridge-free solution that uses high-capacity, easily refillable ink tanks. So you’ll worry less about running out of ink, and save a lot on replacement ink (1). The ET-4850 offers fax, productive paper handling, a high-resolution flatbed scanner, and convenient 2.4″ color touchscreen – making it the perfect printer for your office. Epson strongly recommends the use of genuine ink to ensure optimal print quality and performance. Use of non-genuine ink could cause damage not covered under the printer’s ltd. wnty. | 1. Actual savings and costs will vary considerably based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions. Savings and cost per ISO page are based on the cost of replacement ink bottles and the cost of enough standard cartridges to achieve the total page yields of the bottles using the MSRP (USD) and yields for Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured Epson consumer inkjet printers as of March 2024. | 2. Individual cartridges estimate based on print yields of an included or replacement set of black and color ink bottles as compared to Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured printers as of March 2024. | 3. Part of the ink from the included bottles is used for initial setup; yields are lower than those of replacement ink bottles. Replacement and included ink bottle yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson’s methodology. Actual ink yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. For more information, visit www.epson.com/inkinfo | 4. Based on average monthly document print volumes of about 200 pages. | 5. See www.epson.com/voice for device compatibility. Epson Connect account and voice-activated account registration required. | 6. Most features require an Internet connection to the printer, as well as an Internet- and/or email-enabled device. For a list of Epson Connect enabled printers and compatible devices and apps, visit www.epson.com/connect | 7. Requires Epson Smart Panel app download. Data usage fees may apply.

Love this printer!
This printer replaced my POS Hewlett Packard all in one printer. I had nothing but problems with the HP. This one works flawlessly. When I want i to print, it actually prints! No more arguing and coaxing the printer to print. No paper jams! It prints a lot slower than the HP, but I’m in no hurry. I figure that the time it takes to print a page in high quality on the Epson is actually faster than me sending a print job to the HP, have it not print, then having to reset the connection (sometimes twice) before it finally prints. I like this printer so much I bought another one to do sublimation printing! Wonderful products.

So far, vastly superior to the Canon Pixma it replaced.
Set up: The biggest problem I had was expecting it to be much harder than it wasâ”This seems to simple and easy. What is the documentation not telling me?” The documentation was also written by someone who knows English. It’s only shortcoming is that it’s a PDF file. However, it’s well enough put together that cross-referencing is easy.Unit has a nice, small footprint considering everything it does. ONE (YAY!) paper tray with plenty of capacity. The touch screen can swing out and up if the printer is below eye level, but it also works perfectly if left flush with the front of the printer. For us, this is great, as the printer sits on a rack at about eye level. The touch screen is small, but easy to read and very well designed.Ink filling is very different if you are accustomed to ink cartridge printersâand frankly, easier with less mess! The only problem we foresee is buying more Epson branded ink. The Epson web site may just not like our browser. We have plenty of time to resolve the issueâthe ink reservoirs are ENORMOUS compared to cartridges. It will be quite a while before we need more.We haven’t tried printing on high quality paper or glossy photo paper, but the print quality is still quite good, more than adequate for our needs. Extrapolating to better paper from the print quality so far, it might well be adequate for most DTP. Online reviews we’ve seen indicate that photo print quality is quite good. The only thing we don’t like about it is that it won’t automatically turn on when a network computer sends it a document.

Easy to set up and print quality is good
It was a bit expensive, but worth it because I can print from my iPhone now! Set up was super easy on my MacBook, and didnât have to do anything on my phone! Itâs a bit slow, but for me itâs fine and the print quality is good. I also love it that I donât have to worry about ink for awhile!

An end to paying big bucks for ink!
I’ve had the printer for a few weeks now. Unboxing / setting up was a breeze. The print quality is good, even the photos are respectable. its very light and has a small footprint, both of these things were important for my application. The ink loading is amazing simple and clean. I’ve been an HP user all my life, I’ve owned 6 or more. I am used to paying a ridiculous amount for a small plastic block with a very little amount of ink in it. Just one bottle of Epson ink (one color 70ml) has more ink than an entire XL cartridge of ink for the HP, and the black is even larger 127ml. Its not the fastest printer I’ve had, but the little extra it takes is well worth the money spent on ink. The double side print has a slight pause when pulling the paper back into the printer to print the other side, but the convenience makes it worthwhile. The touchscreen is small, but functions nicely. If you extra large finger tips it could be a problem. I would keep a touchscreen stylus pen nearby. The scanner / copier feeder mechanism wouldn’t work for more than 1 sheet at a time for me. I was disappointed but since I rarely use it and when I do its typically for just a few sheets, I can live with it. If you’re someone who is also looking for this to become a serious copier, you may not be happy with it. I don’t know of my unit alone has an issue, or if its a systemic problem. You’ll want to look into this further. One last note. When I printed a full page photograph on glossy photo paper, the first row across the top (in a landscape mode) and the last line at the bottom has a smear outside the boundary of the picture (in the white space frame around the picture.) it seems their may be an issue printing that close to the edge of the paper when starting and ending the print. I can easily trim off the boarder if I wanted. Since I didn’t and wouldn’t buy this model for serious photographic printing, this isn’t an issue for me.Overall I am very pleased with this printer. My last HP printer started having problems when I kept rejecting the HP automatic refill program. I didn’t buy a printer and want HP to start charging me by how many pages I print per month. Business subscription service has always been a good source for recurring revenue. However, it also usually comes with the service company suppling a machine and maintaining it and selling you the supplies you need. HP decided to turn all their machines already out there, machines that were paid for in full by private users, into a captive reoccurring revenue scheme. It’s a shame they’ve become so greedy because HP has always made some very fine printers.

Great printer, worthless scanner…
This was my 3rd EPSON tank printer/scanner. First two just hooked up to my Mac from the start and ran solidly until they aged out. This one is a scanner misery. They provide a start up disk for my Mac and it is only for Windows. When you call the help desk, they only read to script…they are pleasant and their English is good too. It took 5 calls to get them to give me the “right driver”. They didn’t understand the difference between Mac OS 14 and Mac OS 10.14. I went up the food chain and got the driver finally. Down loaded the whole package and the scanner scans and tells me the USB connection is bad so it can not send the image to the computer. Tried 2 cables, one new. I can go to the “System Preferences ->Printers and scanners” and can see the scanner clearly, I can even try to pull the scan to the computer via the USB and get the “USB not found” alert.I may just return it after one last try.

I absolutely love this printer. It does everything, looks great, and you save on ink. It was also super easy to set up. What more could a girl ask for!

Finally a printer with no ink cartridges! I downloaded the installation app on my iPhone and followed the step by step âchatâ style directions and bam!⦠installation was flawless. The only issue was wifi connection with my 5g router. Itâs didnât work so I switched to 2.4g and when smooth after. Filling up the ink in the printer was really slick. No mess. The printer even controlled how much ink was poorer in. Just like gassing you car at the gas tank, when is was full, the ink stopped flowing. Very cool. Printing is a bit slow for full colour images but for the price of this printer is well worth the wait. Installing on our Macs was very easy. It came with a CD for Windows (so 1990s!). Just get a Mac! Anyway, I love my Epson. This is how consumer electronics experience should be like.

It is an okay printer — I HAD to buy one because my old Canon, that still works, the scanner wasn’t compatible with my new computer so….. I bought this.I don’t do a lot of scanning, but I do use the scanner from time to time and I bought this for the feeder function. I have used this feeder function 4 or 5 times over the year… and today, it stopped feeding. Ugh.I won’t use the flat bed function unless it is for only one sheet of paper. The wireless internet function on this printer is a little buggy from time to time, so I have it hooked up to USB just in case. It is handy to be on a separate floor with my computer and be able to print something — but that is only 75% of the time. Not drastic, but not great when you are in a hurry to get something done and you can’t print because the wireless isn’t connected. The print quality suits my needs and I like it. I print text and images — the images are pretty detailed. I haven’t used for photography or anything, but I am guessing it would work fine. So… although I can’t used the feeding function on the scanner, which does tick me off, the printer works for the most part. Not sure I would get another based on this experience, though — maybe a step down and a flat bed since the feeder is unreliable.

I enjoy being able to print from my phone, scan and e-mail documents. Photo print is better than average. Doing copies is slow. Very satisfied of this one printer. Ink saving is remarkable.
